I am aware that there are new features coming to the game that will need to be re-built, but I think that the current state of development makes it very difficult to develop for the newest game engine. With the new engine there is no need to re-build the engine to create a new game, because the new engine can take advantage of all the features and optimizations that the old engine has.

And since we’re talking about re-building the engine, that means re-building the game engine itself. But with the new engine, that’s not a problem.
