reflections at storey lake
I’ve been back to my hometown after a two-week vacation at storey lake. It’s a pretty big city, and I’m not sure what the weather is like over there. I do have some friends there who visited in the summer, which is nice. In other words, I do feel a little homesick, but it’s better than the situation I was in last fall when I just couldn’t leave until the end of the school year.
Its actually pretty nice. The weather is nice, the people are nice. Its an easy weekend day to get outside for a bit. The downside is that the city is pretty empty on weekends, so you might have to deal with a bit of traffic. The good news is that there are restaurants and bars open and people are going to be going swimming and walking over there. The not-so-good news is that there are no shops open.
I spent so much time at a music store on my way to work that I forgot I was in the store. Its like I have no keys or keys to take out. I’m not an artist. Its just not my thing.
I know I’ve been called many things in my life, but calling me a “artist” is not one of them. Its just not for me. I like my music, my photography, my art, and my writing. As a whole I do not like to be tied down to any one thing. I like to be able to be free and try new things, and the only way I can do that is by creating things.
If you’ve ever been to a store for a show, you’ve probably heard people refer to those as “recesses”, or even “recessed performances”. There’s a lot of confusion about what a “recessed performance” actually is. What’s a “recessed performance” supposed to be? It’s a performance that happens while the audience isn’t paying attention.

I can imagine that being the case in the past. In the past, when you sat in the front row at a recessed performance, you were like the audience. Now, you are like one of the performers. It’s like you’re sitting in a semi-frozen cave, watching a show that happens while the audience isnt paying attention.
One of the things that I liked the most about this performance was that it was so well-written, so well-acted, and so well-executed and all the while being so full of life. The characters all had such complex personalities and such layers of personality and so much that was going on, that it was hard to keep your attention for more than a few moments. If you were paying attention, its like you could see the movie going on in your mind.
